For more than 25 years Ian has delivered strategic customer insights and intelligence for corporate clients, government organisations and educational institutions.
Prior to joining Azurium, Ian was Head of Customer Analytics at the Coles Group (Wesfarmers Limited), and honorary Adjunct Professor of Business at RMIT University.
At Coles, Ian was responsible for the customer analytics function, delivering intelligence to optimise engagement with Coles’ customers nationwide. This included analysis of over 13m customer transactions a week, as well as considering data from FlyBuys, Australia’s largest customer loyalty program. The insights gained were used to reliably predict in detail, future purchasing patterns and influence buyer behaviour.

Ian wrote and published a book in the United Kingdom entitled Managing the Risks of IT Outsourcing, illustrating practical insights on managing risks from intelligence gleaned from actual case studies of data trends and patterns from a number of ASX-50 organisations.
Ian has special interests in semiotics, pattern recognition and predictive analytics. He served on a number of academic councils including Chair of the Program Advisory Council at RMIT University, and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
